People love their Mac, and correctly. The Macos interface is known to be comfortable and familiar, especially if you also have to use an iPhone or iPad.
Its primary rival, Windows's release has not changed it, but Windows 11 introduced a new multitasking feature that cannot compete with MacoS.
Windows 11 Snap Group
If I like one thing about Windows 11, it is a way to handle multitasking, which Microsoft SNAP says. With this, you can choose your open windows automatically, choose and stack your open windows in six different ways.
Just hover on the maximum button, and you will see different options pop up. One of my favorite is the “side by side”, where two apps can walk next to each other at all times.
There is also another option where you can open four windows in a square format. On the external monitor, it proves useful, as you can find ways to use all the space on your screen. Three Microsoft Edge Windows Side in a vertical column? Talk about productivity!
Perhaps the most convenient aspect of this feature is “Snapping” aspect. Just slide a window in any part of the screen, and the system will visually preview where you can snap. It is very quick and comfortable.
But this is not all.
With Windows 11, you can also use a keyboard combination to snap and move your window around. Then is Alt + Tab, which is a beautiful experience showing live preview of your open windows in the background. All this helps you focus and open those windows when you want them. This is something with which MacoS struggles.
Multitasking on macos
On Macos, multitasking and productivity are much more complex. There is no “flapping” mechanism because there is in windows. There is only one way, shoulder to shoulder or opening Windows in a split-screen. You must first hover your mouse on the maximum button of green and choose the window to tile to the left or to the right of the screen. Macos will then let you fill that edge of the screen with one of your open apps.
But there is a problem with it. The current mechanism means that you will lose view access to both your dock and menu bar. Unlike snap groups in windows. The Macos Split-screen apps takes full screen, and to switch between them, you have to hover again, and choose Change the tile window Option.
Originally, MACS treats open division-screen windows as different spaces. This is a slight annoyance, but during a busy day, the time spent in exiting and switching between those apps can be disappointing.
It is true that there are trackpad gestures or mission Control So you can use to switch between open windows, but it is not almost as comfortable as things work in Windows 11. Multitasking Windows is more advanced, and is much more favorable.
Even the iPados provides more ways to jump on the split-screen. Apparently, multitasking in Macos has been neglected over the years.
Third-party solution
However, not all hope for McOS is lost. I use a third-party window tiling solution to help produce. Help keyboard combinations in Windows 11 like SNAP, Spectacle There is a third-party app that lets you stack the open Windows on the side. you can use Option And Permission Keys, to send a window to a certain side of the screen with arrow keys. The spectrakal menu will also remain in the bar, so it can be triggered from the top of the screen in a similar manner as Snap groups.
Other solutions are included in MACOS's winding issues Wax, Magnet, BettersnaptoolAnd BETTETOCHTOOLMost of these apps are paid, but until the Apple Macos adds a native device such as SNAP layout, it can be the way for those who jump from windows.
