TikTok extends maximum video length … again

Tiktok has extended the maximum time limit for video on the platform to 10 minutes.

The change follows the test of several months, with the new border now being rolled for all the creators.

The change is the latest of several extensions made for the Tikok deadline since the app launched in 2017. Originally, Tikokok had allowed a video of up to 15 seconds before extending it by one minute. In July 2021, it increased the boundary to three minutes before changing again this week.

Tikok did not make any public announcement before starting the change, bringing it to a tweet with the UK -based Social Media Advisor Matt Navra to pay widespread attention in a tweet.

Navra contacted after posting his message, confirming the change, saying: “We are always thinking of new ways to bring value for our community and enrich the ticket experience. Last year, we introduced videos for a long time, gave more time to give our community more time to give more time on tickets.

The additional seven minutes will allow the creators to achieve more experimental with their content, and also reduces the possibility of dividing long presentations in more than one video.

For Tiktok, allows your community to give a chance to make videos for a long time – as Navara reported – to compete better with YouTube, and can work to enhance the user's busyness on the app.

One thing is sure – the increased border takes the app away from its roots, which may disappoint some people who were initially there. However, the fact that Tiktok is gradually expanding maximum time, suggests that the community is happy with the changes going on.
