Team17, the publisher behind several Indie darlinges, announced his intentions to enter NFT business with his insects IP. However, the company quickly drove the plans back, at least partially, Eurogammer That NFTs will not be with any of your games at all.

Team17 claims that, working with a reality gaming group, it is capable of creating “environmentally friendly NFT”. The same press release states that 100,000 insects NFTs can be mined with equal amount of energy. 11 houses will be used on tea kettles during one year.
Internal, the company of any NFT schemes allegedly came as a surprise. Eurogamemer has reported that many teams within the publisher were completely unaware of the Metavors NFT project until it was discovered. Other people inside the company who knew about the schemes allegedly objected to them, but seemed to be.
Backlash has been detected for the Metaworms NFT project of Team17, it is also clearly withdrawn to the company. In a statement by Eurogamer, the Indie publisher said that “it has no plans to introduce NFTs or Play-to-Kamai NFT mechanics in any of its Indie game label title.”
Team17 NFT is the latest gaming company to declare cooperation.
