As long as you are not a great proposer of cyberspace, or work for secret service, Sikr is probably not the first name that comes to your mind when you think of a smartphone. However, the company has been making security-focused mobile phones for some time. After launching its first smartphone-Barki strangely nominated Granitphone in 2015, Sikr followed it with Sikur phone in 2018. Four years later, Sikr is back with his latest security and privacy-centered smartphone, The Sikur One.
Sikur One and the Zero Trust Concept
With the help of Brazilian creator Multilesar, co-developed, the sale point of the phone is that it follows the zero trust concept. For those unknown people, it is a safety structure based on the basis that any unit about privacy cannot be fully trusted. For users of Sikur One, they will need to validate their IDs to constantly certify themselves and reach the phone and maintain access to the data stored in it.
However, it is more interesting how this verification process works. In short, the phone uses a password-less certification token function, to avoid dealing with passwords. This, in turn, significantly reduces the risk of fishing and malware attacks. And if you have not already detected it, Sikr one is mainly to be used by governments and organizations. This time, however, the company has opened a retail sales channel for the phone. It opens the doors for paranoid between us to buy a phone for yourself.
In addition to meeting the European Union General Data Protection Regulation and Brazil's LGPD data privacy standards, the phone gets its own messaging app called Sikr Messenger. It supports complete-facilities, privacy-centric messaging tools, including corporate messaging, messaging, file sharing, and even voice and video calling. The phone also supports remote locking and can be made to safely reboot after blocking access to USB file transfer. And if the phone is lost, it can also be cleaned from far away.
Sikur also adds that users on the phone will be blocked by installing apps from unauthorized third-party stores. In addition, location services on the device are closed by default, and the phone will regularly receive over-the-air (OTA) updates.
A budget smartphone with a turn
Objective-manufactured smartphones are commonly known to focus on function on function. And in the case of a smartphone, this approach often ends with great smartphones that look terrible. However, Sikr is a departure from that philosophy. While not a head-turner, Sikr looks like an average budget Android smartphone, with a triple camera array in rounded edges and rear.
The major glasses of Sikur One include a 6.5-inch HD display and an octa-core processor-the details of which the company is yet to reveal. Even if the phone has triple cameras appearing in the back, the company has released the details only on the primary 13-megapixel camera. We also know that the phone gets a 5MP selfie camera.
In addition to being introduced in a single memory configuration – 4GB RAM Plus 128GB storage – Sikur One also supports memory expansion using microSD card and even provides dual SIM support. The battery capacity of the phone has been rated with a 4,000 mAh, and phone vessels with standard 10-watt charger and a protective case. Unfortunately, there is no 5G support yet, and the phone still runs Android 11.
Sikur One will be available in selected countries, where it is expected to be sold around $ 275. This price also includes one year membership for Sikur Messenger. However, the app will need to be re -purchased again for $ 145 per year.
