Android tablets usually fall behind iPads and Windows Tablet when it comes to offering good tablet experiences. With Android 12L, Google is carrying that particular bull by horns. This update will roll for the pixel phone starting next month, but the recent announcement of Samsung's Galaxy tab S8 has put a shadow on a revival for Google's tablet ambitions because it shows that the problem with Android Tablet is not actually with the interface.
What is Android 12L?
To quickly recur, Google announced Android 12L last year, an initiative that the company is using Android to create a better experience on tablets and foldables. The company will continue this work through Android 13 and app is expected to enter the line for developers and create apps that will do better with the moving of Android. The big issue here is that Android 12L is fruitless for most parts – and Tab S8 reminds him of that.
Android 12L, as far as focusing on large screen devices, a user misses the interface too much. The lock is a new multi-pen interface for the screen and the notification center, and support for a dock for productivity scenarios. But none of this actually cures problems that exist for users. If you have recently made any purchases for Android Tablet, you will see that companies like Samsung actually make their device software competently in companies selling Android tablets.
Android tablets already have adapted interfaces

Take Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 with a UI 4 on board. This is one of the best tablet experiences you will see less than an iPad. Samsung has always made its stock apps to adapt to large displays, every part of the user interface honors that you are not using it on the phone, and attaching a keyboard cover to it shows you something that estimates more or less traditional desktop environment that you will find on a laptop or chrombook.
This is not to say that Android 12L Tab is not coming in S8 -IT. A Samsung spokesman told digital trends, “We are constantly interacting with our colleagues in Google and Android, and we are committed to bringing Android 12L to our tablet in the future. Currently, we do not have a set timeline when Android 12L will be available on these devices.”
This is just that such moves do not make Android Tablet better. Google (and Samsung by extension by extensions) on the tablet is the lack of facial problems that take advantage of the big screen. It is a universal issue on all large-screen Android devices. Conversely, there are more than some tablet apps that you will find which are iPados-Exclusive. If you want to write a book, you can download the Screenger. Edit a picture professionally without Photoshop? Pixelmator is present. The list goes on and on.
It is not that the third-party tablet apps are not available for Android, but the vast majority are either projects from large companies, or the note app, file manager, or variants on some other utility. The apps that are really useful, unique, and well -thought out often reduce the Play Store, resulting in focus on iPads as a result of developers. This is a problem with the experience of Android Tablet, and does not address it to reshuffle the notification center.
Android 12L is not necessary (but it will be a bonus)
Where credit is payable to give credit, Samsung Is Working at this angle. The company is making a suit of tablet-friendly apps, such as your Samsung tablet will be very capable out of the box. It is also worked to bring powerful apps Lumfusion So that its pills are seen as an alternative. Whether on Chromebooks or on Android Tablet, Google has not shown equal urgency.
It is not that in any case some tablets with Google's apps are sold with Google's apps. Yes, it is a good thing that Google is forcing any kind of structure on large-screen Android devices, but none of it will actually change much at the user level. Creating apps for Android devices has always been possible that uses large canvas well, but developers do not choose just one reason or another.
Does this mean that Samsung's latest pills are not worth it? barely. If you use your Android tablet mainly for entertainment with some mild productivity, those apps will mean nothing for you. Samsung already has flexibility to return the best screen, best speakers and flexibility of Android to iOS. We will review the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 in the coming weeks, but it is enough to say, Android 12L deficiency does not return this tablet in our first impression.
