NVIDIA RTX 5080 vs. RTX 4090-Can it separate the last-Je King?

When you come to the king, you are not the best. Fortunately, it is almost a given XX80 GPU XX90 graphics card of Nvidia that was earlier. How does it just go. But we are hearing of RTX 5080 underporforming expectations because its original unveiling and praise of Nvidia is sweet with such a huge dose of AI. Our RTX 5080 review did not do much to change that story.

So, how does RTX 5080 RTX compare with 4090? Can it compete? Does it provide a price upgradation for 30-series and 20-series owners that they can seek the best graphics cards they can tolerate? Let's know.

Pricing and availability

RTX 4090 started in October 2022 with a record price of a time for the top-consumer graphics card of $ 1,600. This price jumped a lot during GPU shortage, but eventually remained relatively stable over the last few years. All have disappeared at the time of writing in the card's stock, but the models used have touched the price after an average improvement of RTX 5090. The price of 4090 is now between $ 1,500 and $ 2,500 in the other hand markets.

RTX 5080 is now on sale, but the stock is extremely limited. Its suggested retail price is $ 1,000, but the third-party cards are already up to $ 1,500, and the decrease and skulls can further increase the price in a shorter duration.

RTX 5080, on paper, is a weak card compared to RTX 4090, with about 50% less cuda core, low RT and tenser core (later from a generation), 50% less memory, and a narrow memory bus. The RTX 5080 has a high boost watch and very fast memory, but we would expect the new Blackwell architecture to lift the difference between these two cards.

The RTX 5080 is more efficient than the last-Gy-Je Raja, also, demanding just 360W, while RTX 4090 can easily pull 450W when hard work is done.

Glasses rarely tell the whole story, however, and they certainly do not cover new DLSS features that support RTX 5080. Its next generation tenser core allowed it to use a multi-frame generation, which has the ability to artificially promote frame rates in the compatible games with considerable differences.

Display

The actual world performance test is always where GPU meets rubber gaming road, and unfortunately, despite all its capacity, RTX 5080 does not really affect. Its average performance in our suites of games on 4K and 1440p is shown as a very fast card, and 10–15% faster than the RTX 4080 super that it is replacing it, but falling much less than the RTX 4090 when we do not use the new multi-frame generation feature.

The difference between 5080 and 4090 in 1440p is reduced, but 4090 is still dominated, especially in a little old sports.

Although we did not run into any VRAM issues during the test, it is worth noting that super-demanding games like Alan Wake 2 Walking on full specifications is shown to fill more as 15GB VRAM, so we are already missing 5080 on future gaming features as possible because it is not just the Vram room as it does 4090.

Ray tracing performance almost holds 5080 with 4090, and draws forward from 4080 super (as well as destroying AMD options), but in 4090 RT core keeps it more than relevant as the second-secret RT graphics card-although a distance from 5090.

The frame generation feature is the only real standout for RTX 5080, and is of course its only large sales point to consider an upgrade for any 4080 or 4080 super owners. In compatible games, it can double or trip the frame rate when it is capable, although not all gamers will be ready to sacrifice visual loyalty that promote FPS demands. The low tenser core at RTX 5080 (vs. 5090) means that its performance is hit by enabling multi-frame genes, more obvious, so you are more likely to look at artworks and other issues. Frame can cause generation.

Overall, RTX 5080 is a better card than 4080 super, but it cannot accept 4090 without its AI-II-Abummented frame generation.

Thermal and shape

At this stage of the graphics card with this type of power demands, you know that they are going hard and perhaps warm running, but with the cooler on these cards, they do not actually get too much toast. The cooler of RTX 4090 is huge and still works well in cooling that toast GPU, but the RTX 5080 has a distant slimmer (dual slot!), Making it a card that makes the small form easier to fit into the builder. This is nothing, but it is a very minor sales point otherwise for a weak GPU.

Congratulating, 5080 is a “better” option

I wish, there were enough RTX 4090s to buy at an affordable price for all there because I would probably advise you to buy instead. It is still incredibly sharp, and although it demands more power, there are no signs of saturation on the horizon. But I can't. Because RTX 4090 is no longer on sale, and the other hand options are more on a large scale.

So, he leaves gamers with a hole in his pocket with approximately $ 1,000, looking for a GPU upgrade: RTX 5080 – if you can find it at a good price. If you can't, one of these may be better. It is still an improvement on anything other than 4090 and 5090 (and gets close to the east), and the multi-frame generation game changer Nvidia wants this, it may not be, but in the right setting, it makes a big difference. One reason is that we are all using defective scaling.

The RTX 5080 is not a big, new-gene card that we expected that it will be, and it is not worth it if you are already gaming on 4080 or 4080 super. However, for someone else, Eh? No problem. It may be worth seeing whether the RX 9070 XT closes at a reasonable price from AMD, but it is still a few months away. At least, do not pay the scale prices for 5080. It is not worth it.
