Moto G 2025 is a budget smartphone that embraces its boundaries while making enough to make a compelling option for the right buyer. At this price, sacrifices are always unavoidable, but the big question is whether they sacrifice with your priorities. I have used the new Moto G (2025) to find out whether it is worth buying, or if you should spend a little more to get a phone that is much better.

Moto G2025: Design

At first glance, Moto G2025 does not shout “budget phone” and it is a very large sales point. It is long, striking thin, and lightens everyone with a lack of hollowness inside the body. A separate feature is forest gray vegetarian leather backing that also adds a touch of sophistication, providing a better-and-normal grip. This banking adds an elegant experience to the specific gentle slopes of the signature camera collision.
Plastic mid-frames have a two-ton look, with a metal paint half of the frame, while the Xinier plastic surround is found with a glass display at the front. Even though it is not built with premium content, the design so confidently mimics the premium build quality that I almost misunderstood the frame for aluminum, enhancing the overall impression of the more expensive device.

The strong power button doubles as a fingerprint scanner and works firmly, although its placement on the side made me often unknowingly unlock the device while handling the phone. In contrast, the volume rocker on top of it feels muddy and lacks the sophisticated reaction of the power button, a subtle difference that reminds me of the budget nature of the device. On the left, you will find a single card slot for SIM and microSD card, while below is a USB-C port and 3.5 mm headphone jack. There are two stereo speakers of Dolby Atmos Support, and I should accept to be impressed by emphasis, clarity and spatial depth while playing YouTube videos and music in the room.
Moto G2025: Performance

The Moto G 2025 has a 6.7-inch LCD HD+ display with a resolution of 1604 × 720 (263PPI) and sports while this resolution may look modest from today's standards, the screen looks sharp enough for everyday use. The 120Hz refresh rate, a feature is once reserved for more premium devices, leads a long way in helping this performance look its best in daily use, although sometimes sometimes responsible for SOC and minimal RAM reducing display issues, which often sustain lubrication. For uniformity, bezels are a bit uneven and offset, but it does not bother me as much as I believe is an acceptable tradeoff for this caliber tools.

Protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, the display should be thoroughly caught against scratches, but if the shutprof is dropped in any way, it is not. In 1000 Nits Peak Brightness, Moto G2025 was bright enough for most of the rain where I live but sometimes there was a challenge in the bright sunlight.
Moto G2025: Performance

Under the hood, the Moto G2025 has a 6300 chipset of MediaTek, about a year ago, built on the 6Nm process, and was combined with just 4GB of RAM. While this processor is honorable for minimal-ranges devices, limited RAM resulted in discrepancies in performance.
Every day tasks like unlocking the phone or launching the app sometimes feels dull, while infections in home screen and app switching from the lock screen often feel stuttering and irritable. It was not a constant annoyance, but the enough bar cropped to know that it was not a temporary. Surprisingly, gaming performance was good in my time playing PUBG in my highest resolution setting. Nevertheless, these moments of smooth operation found inconsistent with unexpected performance in daily use.
Comparison of Moto G2025 than Samsung Galaxy A35 and slightly more expensive CMF Phone 1, is very clear to see some performance shortcomings of the device. Unfortunately, the device will not run the top 3dmark tests that we often like to include.
Geekbench 6 | CPU (single) | CPU (multiple) | Agitation |
Moto G2025 | 729 | 2100 | 1449 |
CMF phone 1 | 1019 | 2829 | 2496 |
Samsung Galaxy A35 | 983 | 2137 |
As a workaround, the phone includes Motorola's RAM boost feature, which can allocate an additional 8GB internal storage as virtual RAM to improve multitasking. This is set by default by default to determine how much RAM to throw on some procedures, but I found that setting it in its maximum 8GB settings helped improve the performance to some extent. I would not say that the RAM boost feature solves all of the performance of Moto G2025, but it made a noticeable improvement.
Moto G2025: Camera

The Moto G 2025 is equipped with a 50MP main sensor (f/1.8 aperture), which is a bottom compartment for 12.5MP images by default, and quality mixed. On one hand, bright, incense environment can cause some solid outputs to create some solid outputs, especially for a phone of this caliber. On the other hand, the dynamic range has severe decrease and sometimes can result in the dark, emotional shade that reveals very low stability in detail.
Secondary camera is a disappointing 2MP macro lens that felt it was more added to imagination sheets than quality images. I could sometimes look like a decent close-up if only I had more megapixels to work.
On the front, there is a 16MP selfie camera that performs adminically for its class. Portrait shot is decent with only modest edges around hair or other fine details.
In addition to image quality, my large complaint is accompanied by performance issues that extend to the camera app only. The shutter lag is common, sometimes with photos in one to two seconds, there are staggering in one to two seconds, resulting in blurred speed from rapidly moving subjects. Night vision mode further enhances this delay and requires stable hands to avoid blurred consequences, although I was very patient and still able to achieve some usable images. Consistency issues plagued my experience with the camera system.
Moto G2025: Software

The Moto G 2025 keeps the minimum amendment compared to ships and stock Android with Android 15 – a plus for purists like themselves. Hello UI is very close to vanilla, with some modifications that have become staples for moto experience. Ever since I have got a chance to enjoy Motorola's spontaneous and direct chop action to activate the flashlight. The hidden functionality like tapping and holding three fingers on the screen to take a screenshot makes me feel like a true moto internal formula. However, there are some pre-installed bilotware that can be removed as required.

Hello provides a light suit of UI privatization equipment, including UI, subjects, fonts and icons. Motorola's default font choice has a tight caring that makes the lesson difficult to read in some areas of experience, including the app drawer. I am sure my aging eyes are at least partially guilty for him, but thankfully I got immediate relief from having the ability to get these settings a trick.
Motorola promises a two -year software update and a three -year security patch, which improves last year's model. Competitors such as Samsung's Galaxy A15 compare four -year OS updates and a five -year security patch. Although Motorola is moving in the right direction, buyers should still expect to change the phone under the line to stay safe.
Moto G2025: Battery & Charging

Battery concern is something that I never felt with Moto G2025. Its large 5000mAh battery is easily up for two days with heavy use or two days with medium use. This is, of course, a little surprise because it is a skilled processor and slight performance with resolution. Charging speed is also honorable on 30W wired charging – my trustees rapidly faster than some flagship devices of Google's Pixel 9 Pro and Motorola included the charger in the box for my review unit, although only a few carriers will offer only additional accessories.
I found that the 30 -minute charge brought the phone to about 50% of the battery from the empty. With one hour and 15 minutes, I could go from dead to full which is impressive for such a lower level device. Moto G 2025 is an excellent choice for anyone who hates worrying about battery life.
Moto G2025: Pricing and Availability

Moto G is currently available for $ 199.99 on the Motorola website. Motorola also released Moto G Power 2025, one step above the version that includes 15W wireless charging, IP68 and IP69 water resistance and slightly larger performance.
Moto G2025: My decision

Finally, what will you expect from the Moto G 2025 $ 200 smartphone. It is not trying to compete with a flagship device or mid-range options. It is designed for those who require an inexpensive tool without frills or high expectations. For those who give importance to designs and batteries above all, it can be an excellent option at an unbeatable value.
But if smooth performance or great cameras are non-paralysis for you, it may be worth spending more on something more on the series. The Nathing Nathing CMF Phone 1 ($ 239) has a better MediaTek Demistance 7300 processor, 8GB RAM, an AMOLED display and a 50-megapixel camera. Alternatively, Google Pixel 7A (under $ 300) guarantees Google's tensor G2 chip, an extraordinary camera system, and the software update by 2028 despite being almost two years old.
As long as you know about its boundaries and how they align with your preferences, Moto G2025 should fulfill its purpose.
