According to IDC research, MediaTek is now the number one supplier of mobile processor for Android smartphone in the US, and it has announced new chips about its MMWAVE modem, as well as a pair of news, which hopes it will help continue its great speed. Demidation 8000 and District 8100 processor is one step below Demistance 9000 platforms, but still expected to compete with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 for power for more modern modem and more efficiency.
Demides 8000 will find a house in a premium 5G Android smartphone, and unlike high-specific 4Nm dislike 9000, is designed using the 5Nm process. The octa-core dimitivity 8000 chip uses four arm cortex A78 courts on 2.75GHz, while four arm cortex A55 Corps, 2.85GHz. Both are otherwise the same.
On the connectivity side, the modem supports the latest release 16 standards for better sub -6 performance, plus Wi -Fi 6E and 5G for Bluetooth 5.3. Demistance 8000 series chips support cameras up to 200 megapixels and have earned video recording on 4K resolution and 60 frames per second, and HDR10+ Certification. It has Mediatech's fifth generation AI processing unit (APU) designed for brilliant performance and gaming by the camera.
MediaTek has added the Demides 8000 series to its Demides Open Resource Architecture (DORA) initiative, which means that device manufacturers can adapt the processor aspects to meet the demands of their new equipment. OnePlus became one of the first people to take the initiative, and the OnePlus Nord 2 used the Dora-Manager of the Demensive 1200 processor for the Nord 2 5G smartphone.
Launch
Demistance 8000 series chips are waiting in wings, and MediaTek hopes that the next few weeks will call with the phone with the inside chips. And currently unlike the China-centered dimension 9000, it is being used globally. The smartphone with 8000-series chips can cost between $ 400 and $ 700. But this is not the only reason that it is expecting more success around the US and the world.
MediaTek has mostly focused on sub -6 5G modem for its processor, and we have been waiting for its mmwave modem for a while. The company says that it has now certified its mmwave modem with Verizon, and that other carriers around the world are close to doing so. We should look out for the first phone with the announcement of a MediaTek mmwave modem in mid -2022, with a release during the second half of the year.
Now, claiming 51% market share in Android smartphones in the US, MediaTek's chips are found in phones like Samsung Galaxy A12, Motorola G Pure, and various carrier-branded phones like The Boost Celero 5G. Globally, MediaTek has 39% market share.
