I took a first look at HP Elitebook X G1A a few weeks ago, and without giving a chance to test the laptop, it was found that it was a solid new additional to the area of the best business laptop. It is attractive, well made, and usually looks and it seems that the type of laptop business users are looking for.
Now that I have tested it, I am happy to say that it lasts till my original billing. It is very fast and hosts commercial-friendly features. I tested it with its outstanding OLED display option, but if you are looking for the best battery life, you would like to choose the IPS panel instead.

Many configurations are available for Elitebook X G1A. If you visit HP's web store, you will find many configurations that are on sale, such as my review configuration which is currently on sale for $ 2,599, below the list price of $ 3,949. That configuration includes an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 375 chipset, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD and 14.0-inch 2.8k 2.8k OLED display. The base configuration is a list of $ 2,099, which has Ryzen AI 7 Pro 360, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, and 14.0-inch FHD+ IPS panels.
However, these prices will not be what a business will pay. Instead, prices will be the most relevant when the laptop is purchased on a contract that will be much more attractive.
design
There is no doubt that HP knows how to make a solid laptop. Elitebook X G1 A looks incredibly stronger with zero bending, flexing, or lid, keyboard deck, or twisting in chassis. This makes sense, because the laptop is aimed at a commercial market that demands credibility.
In terms of its beauty, Elitebook is perfect about X G1A – that is, if you are a businessman who wants a laptop that does not stand out, but still comes as attractive. HP toned some designs, which you will find on its consumer lineup, most recently like OmnibuC machines, while still giving enough smooth lines and harmony to the elitebooks, which you will not feel that you are carrying general business machines.
While the display bezel is not the smallest I have seen, the laptop is still quite width and in -depth. It is very thin at just 0.52 inches, thin MacBook Air is not far from 15 inches, which is 0.45 inches, while it is not too lighter in 3.3 pounds. It is quite heavy that Elitebook X G1A has a dense feeling, which makes it a little less comfortable.
Keyboard and touchpad
HP has been making great keyboards for many years, first in their audience lineup and now in their omnipresent and elitebook machines. It makes one on one, with large kicap, bold lettering and lots of key vacancy. The switches are corresponding to the entire keyboard and feels a light, inflamed. This is one of the best used by me, right with my general favorite, Magic keyboard of Apple.
The touchpad is not quite good as a mechanical version, where I am starting watching more haptic touchpads in premium laptops. It is quite large and the button clicks are calm and confident, but a haptic touchpad would have been welcomed here. HP creates a great version that is on some of its universal laptops, and I like to see it is in the elitebook.
Connectivity and webcam
With a good selection of modern and heritage ports, there is a lot of connectivity. This makes sense, looking at the commercial focus of the laptop, and the fastest wireless connectivity. I want to see an SD card slot, which is becoming less and less. I also wonder that there is always no option for the internet, which is available on some other commercial machines.
Webcam is the high-resolution 5MP version of HP, providing a sharp, clear image that benefits from a host of AI-mangoing enrichment. The laptop is a Microsoft Copilot+ PC, and HP Poly Camera provides many conferencing benefits through Pro software. There is a spotlight feature, excellent background blot and replaced, filter and auto framing. It is all powered by a sharp nerve processing unit (NPU) that provides rapid and efficient on-device AI processing.
Display
Elitebook X G1A is available with one of several AMD Ryzen AI 7 and 9 chipsets, and I have reviewed the most with Ryzen AI 9 HX 375. The Pro versions of the chipset enable the type of safety and management that demand enterprises, and then the Ryzen AI 9 is the alternative to the sheer power of the chipset. It is a 12-core/24-thread chipset that is running up to 5.1GHz and consumes 28 watts of default up to 54 watts.
It also provides rapid on-device AI thanks to an NPU that runs up to 55 terra operations per second (tops). It is faster than any other chipset available today, and means rapid AI processing with the efficiency of NPU than using GPU.
HP is introducing its AI partner software that enables Microsoft's Copilot+ PC initiatives up and beyond a variety of AI features. The AI partner involves analysis that lets you dig into files with many other custom AI features. They all run on-devices, which keep things theoretically safe and more private and use NPUs to maintain efficiency.
HP also updated its smartsense facility to use AI to better manage performance and fan speed. Now, only two options are available – Smartsense and Best Performance – which means that users will not need to spend that much time to manage the performance, heat and noise of Elitebook X G1A. We have to wait until we can run the benchmark to determine how effective the new software is in managing things.
Finally, as a member of HP's business lineup, Elitebook X G1A has Wolf security for increased safety and privacy. It is so closed that there were additional hoops that I had to run through running some of our standard benchmarks.
Elitebook X G1A was a strong artist for the demand for productivity users, coming to the top in our comparative group of thin and light laptops in multi-core processing speed. Some other chipsets, such as Intel's lunar lake and apple M3 chipset, are sharp in single-core performance. AMD Radeon 890m Integrated Graphics is the second fastest in this group, but Elitebook X G1A does not make for a strong gaming laptop or creative workstation.

battery life
I reviewed the Elitebook X G1A with my high-resolution OLED display, which gives the 74.5 watt-hour battery as appropriate shape. The AMD chipset is not particularly efficient, and I saw just 7.5 hours of video looping with elitebook and 1.5 hours of running Cinebench R24 benchmark as a demand test.
This is not very good, and in fact the laptop with a more efficient chipset such as Snapdragon X and Intel's lunar lake of Qualcomm decreases well. You will get better battery life with the available FHD+ IPS display, and this configuration is for those who demand the best performance quality. HP estimates battery life at over 17 hours with IP IP, and this is a reasonable hope.
Performance and audio
There are two display options with Elitebook X G1A. I reviewed the 14.0-inch 16:10 2.8k (2880 x 1800) OLED display that runs up to 120Hz. It is a grand performance with sufficient glow, dynamic colors and their blacks more than their blacks. This also means that you will take a hit on battery life. If this is a concern, you can opt for FHD+ (1920 x 1200) IPS display instead. I love OLED and 2.8k is just very fast for me, so I would choose for this if I was shopping.
According to my color meter, it is a very good OLED panel. It is very bright at 404 nits, above our 300-NIT threshold that is sufficient to use anything but in direct sunlight. Blasses are near-perfect, with 28,280: 1 opposite ratio. And the colors are wide at 96% adobergb, 100% of SRGB and 100% of DCI-P3, which is unprecedented accuracy in a delta of 0.59 (1.0 or less in excellent for all uses).
Choose OLED display, and you will be set for any kind of use. If you are mainly productivity work then choose IPS options and battery life is most important for you.
You will enjoy a four-speaker setup, with two upward tweeters and two downward-firing woofers. The laptop audio has recently grown much better, and the Elitebook X G1A produces a lot of quantity, clear mids and high, and more than normal. This is the best, including Apple MacBook Air, which also has four-speaker configurations.
What are you really looking for business
Elitebook X G1A success is admirably success on its purpose of providing a laptop that will keep businesses happy. It provides many management and safety facilities that demand large enterprises, as well as a build quality as well as the hardness of the journey.
It is very fast and takes Microsoft's Copilot+ PC AI initiative one step forward with some Nifty HP Exclusive. If you want better battery life, then you want to choose the option of more power-skilled performance. But all this is an easy laptop to recommend but budget-conscious consumers.
