With the continuity features of Apple for Mac, iPhone and iPad, you can basically go to another device where you leave. This includes things like airplay, handoff, aircraft and universal clipboard.
To take maximum advantage of this, however, you have to know how to use continuity markup and continuity sketches. With markup, you can use your iPhone or iPad to create anotation and markup on a document or image and display it on Mac. With sketch, you can make a drawing on your mobile device that pops into a document on your Mac.
Requirements for continuity markup and sketch
To begin with, make sure that you are using compatible equipment. You can check Apple list You use for iPhone, iPad and Mac. Then, confirm that you have the following:
- You are signed in iCloud on all devices using the same Apple ID.
- You have both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capable.
- Your iPhone iOS 13 or later is running.
- Your iPad is running ipados or later.
- Your Mc McOS is running Catalina or later.
If you have everything, these continuity facilities are time to work! You can use features in Apple's apps such as notes, messages, mail, page and textedit. Some third-party apps also support these continuity features.
How to use continuity markup
Do you ever want to sign an image with your iPhone or iPad or an image to an image, but use it on your Mac? Continuity markup is an ideal device to bring a markup to your computer from your mobile device.
step 1: Select the item you want to mark in the finder on your Mac.
step 2: Press your Space bar Click to open a preview Marck up Icon in the toolbar. Alternatively, you can right-click the item and choose Accelerated actions , Marck up,

step 3: Click on top in markup toolbar Annotate button. If you have more than one connected devices, choose what you want to use.

step 4: The markup window will open automatically on the device you choose. Then you can use your finger or apple pencil to create your annotation. In this example, we are using an iPad.

Step 5: You will see the same markup tool as if you were using markup without consistency facility. Select a pen, pencil, or marker, choose a color, or use a plus sign for text, a signature or shape.

Step 6: As you mark the document or image on your iPhone or iPad, you will see changes in real time on your Mac.

Step 7: When you finish, tap Done On your mobile device.

How to use continuity sketch
If you like to draw items on your iPhone or iPad for use on your Mac, then this feature is for you. You can request sketches using your Mac, make it on your mobile device, and then use it on Macos for whatever you want.
step 1: Open the app where you want to insert sketches and do one of the following:
- Go file , Pour iphone or ipad , Add sketch From menu bar.
- Go Pour , Pour iphone or ipad , Add sketch From menu bar. This applies to pages, numbers and kenots.
- Click Media To select button in the toolbar Add sketch For the device.

step 2: The sketch window will open automatically on the device you choose. Then use your finger or apple pencil to take your photo. We are using an iPad for this example.
You have the same device as a markup window. Choose a pen or pencil, change the color, or use the arrow, or again. When you finish, tap Done On your mobile device.

step 3: Unlike continuity markup, you will not see the progress of your drawing on Mac. You will only see the finished product after tapping Done On iPhone or iPad.
