What is visual ID?
Visual ID is Amazon’s facial recognition service. With Visual ID in Eco Show 15, Amazon explains it in this way: “Visual ID is a smart way to simplify your day. Imagine this: In the morning, get your daily schedule quickly, the latest news from your favorite sources, and a note for you from your partner who reads, ‘is a good day on work!’ And when someone else in your home, who is also nominated in visual ID, comes close to the device, they can see such information which is also relevant to them. ”
Visual ID is always on?
According to Amazon, your privacy in visual ID is the top. You need to set this recognition; It is not capable by default. Amazon promises your facial images that are used to create your visual ID, “Your devices are safely stored, and not stored in Amazon’s cloud.”
Once you allow visual ID features to use features, the camera is always there and always sees you to distribute your conservative experiences. You can temporarily disable things by removing your ID in settings or by swiping the privacy shutter permanently – which we will get.
How to set visual ID on Eco Show 15
Amazon’s new Eco Show 15 is its biggest smart home digital accessory with a screen. To look like a small TV, the Eco Show 15 can be mounted on the wall or placed on a special stand, but it is to live in a busy home area such as the kitchen or main living area so that it can help with many aspects of daily life. If you have already installed and setting your Eco show 15, what do you have to do, but when you first insult your device, left the visual ID option (which offers on the initial set up).
There are two ways by which you can set a visual ID: Ask Alexa to do this (say: “Alexa, know my face“) Or use touchscreen on your device.
To set visual ID using touchscreen on your device
- open setting,
- open Your profile and family,
- choose Enable visual ID,
You will enable permissions, then let the camera scan your face with a few angles. Within a minute, it is ready.
How do you get your personal photo on Eco?
After enrolling in visual ID, you will see the option to add a selfie photo to make your own avatar. Just choose the pencil icon and allow the camera to snap a quick photo. Voilà!
Can I enroll a child in a visual ID?
If you want, you can also add your children to the visual ID. Children will be linked to Amazon Kids profiles and when your child is recognized, they will only get service to age-appropriate material.
How do I remove the visual ID?
If you no longer want to participate in the visual ID program (or maybe you are selling your device or is removing), it is quite easy to remove your visual ID. On the Eco Show 15, swipe down from the top of the screen:
- open setting,
- open Your profile and family,
- choose Remove the visual ID.
