Sony’s latest flagship round finally made its debut this month. The Sony Xperia 1 III and Sony Xperia 5 III are now leaders for the Japanese company. But despite their stacked features, they can come with high price tags.
With that said, we asked you what you think of Sony’s new flagship models. Are you hot or not? Here’s what you told us:
What do you think of the Xperia 1 III and 5 III?
Results
There was no competition here. With over 1,300 votes, it was almost 90% Android Authority Readers find Sony’s new flagships “hot”.
These readers also have plenty of evidence to support their reasoning. On the Sony Xperia 1 III and Xperia 5 III, the screen refresh rate is updated to 120 Hz. Both telephones are now also equipped with a variable telephoto lens. Other fan favorites like the 3.5mm headphone jack, the side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and the flagship Qualcomm Silicon Return.
However, not everyone feels that way. Only 10.6% of readers believe the phones are nothing to write home about. These readers may also have some ammunition. Sony didn’t really bring the boat to design as both devices are very reminiscent of their predecessors. Fast charging is limited to 30W – significantly slower than the speeds offered by Xiaomi and Oppo. Sony’s flagships are also likely to remain high investments.
In addition to the survey, the readers also had a lot to tell.
Here’s what you had to say
- EasyCare: Appreciate the details like the 3 year battery life, headphone jack, micro SD card slot and charger included. Unsafe Android manufacturers often follow Apple’s steps for no good reason.
- Farhan Ahmad Tajuddin: I wonder what the battery life of the 1 iii would look like with a screen resolution of 4K and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. GSMArena managed to achieve 83 hours of battery life from 1 ii last year, and that at the normal refresh rate of 60 Hz.
- Konstantin Cherkezov: I think this is a step on the right path. Sony may have started to learn from their mistakes.
- c .: The Xperia 1 iii looks fantastic, especially with the 3-5x zoom variables. If the software experience is going to be good I might consider this phone as I will be desperately missing the micro SD card when I get an S21, but Samsung’s software and now 3 years of major Android updates keep me with one S20.
- Joe Black: It’s the opposite of the previous generation where I believe the Xperia 1 II was a smaller phone compared to the Xperia 5 II. But considering how much worse they made the Xperia 5 III this year, 1 III suddenly seems like a better choice.
That’s it for this poll. Thank you for your votes and comments. Do you have any other thoughts about Sony flagship products or results? Make sure you drop them down.
