If you’re looking for a huge screen and possibly some portability, projectors still have some advantages over TVs, but projectors don’t always win in price and can be easily washed out by ambient light. Even so, some of the best projectors have great appeal in the home theater. Case in point: the Optoma UHD30 is a 4K projector that is incredibly bright and can be mounted on the ceiling or simply on a tabletop. And while it usually sells for $ 1,299, you can get it now Optoma UHD30 for $ 1,099 on amazon. That’s a 15% discount, which is the lowest price we’ve ever seen for this model.

There’s a lot to like about this projector. By doing CNET review of the Optoma UHD30Geoffrey Morrison described it as “blowing bright”, brighter than the highest settings of many other projectors, even in Eco mode. This solves one of the most annoying problems home theaters face. However, the brightness is adjustable, which allows you to get more life out of your lightbulb. It can last from 4,000 hours to more than 15,000 hours in dynamic black mode, which varies the lamp power depending on the brightness of the lightbulb content.

The 4K display supports both HDR10 and HLG content with high dynamic range and can be projected in sizes from 33 to 300 inches. Gamers may be particularly intrigued: Optoma claims the projector has a fast 16 ms response time and a high refresh rate. You can run it at 240 Hz for PC games or at up to 120 Hz at 1080p for consoles (and at 60 Hz for 4K).

Overall, the UHD30 delivers very accurate color reproduction and solid performance, although CNET’s Morrison points out that this projector isn’t the best value. But that’s where this deal comes in – it’s $ 200 through Jan 21, which makes it a pretty smart deal.
