- A leaker claims that Samsung will release the Galaxy Tab S8 series in addition to the Galaxy S22.
- The Tab S8 Plus would come with a next-generation Snapdragon and One UI 4.0.
- The Scoop also echoes the claims of a Tab S8 Ultra variant.
Don’t despair of the word that Samsung might not ship the Galaxy Tab S8 before 2022 – it might arrive a little earlier than expected. Well-known (if not always more reliable) leaker Ice Universe claims that the release date of the Tab S8 will be the same as that of the Galaxy S22.
While the tipster did not narrow the time frame, Samsung introduced the Galaxy S21 series in January of this year and shipped it towards the end of the month. If the company is in line with the launch of the S22, the Tab S8 release date will be sometime in January 2022.

There is more to the apparent Tab S8 beyond the release date – Ice Universe also claims to have hardware details. The leak provider assumes that the Tab S8 Plus variant will be delivered with Qualcomm’s SM8450 chip (the successor to the Snapdragon 888), One UI 4.0 and the same battery capacity of 10,090 mAh as the Tab S7.
Ice Universe also reiterated previous conversations about a possible Tab S8 Ultra model, despite the lack of hardware details. Some suspect a rumored 14.6-inch tablet could be the Ultra, but that’s far from verified at this point. There will likely be a smaller standard device as well.
This won’t satisfy you if you were hoping for a Tab S8 release date shortly after Samsung’s Unpacked event on August 11th. However, a possible January debut would surpass months of waiting and could ensure that both the new tablet and the S22 have very similar performance and features.
