- A new leak has revealed everything about the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Plus.
- The information contains details on specifications, features and European prices.
Samsung’s expected launch event for the Galaxy S21 series on January 14th is absolutely no longer a mystery. In addition to the spate of leaks and rumors we’ve seen before, there’s a new report from WinFuture over the weekend revealed absolutely everything there is to know about the Samsung Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 and the S21 Plus should both be equipped with flat screens that are flush with a metal frame. The Vanilla S21 will likely have a 6.2-inch Infinity-O Dynamic AMOLED screen, while the S21 Plus will expand it to 6.7-inches. However, the resolution on both is identical at 2400 x 1080 pixels. Both phones also get a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
The panels are protected by the seventh generation Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, which was previously seen on the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. Both the S21 and the S21 Plus have a fingerprint sensor in the display.
Under the hood, the new flagships are powered by the Exynos 2100 in Europe and other markets such as India. The employees of the Samsung store confirmed this to us a few weeks ago.
The new Exynos chip will hit the market a few days before the phones and will be equipped with a 2.9 GHz main core, three high-performance cores with up to 2.8 GHz and four energy-saving cores with up to 2.4 GHz. In markets like the United States, the Galaxy S21 series will of course contain the Snapdragon 888 processor.
The basic variants for the Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus should be equipped with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Both versions will likely have 256GB of storage options available.
The latest leak suggests that the imaging setups for the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Plus are identical.
The phones are expected to have three rear cameras consisting of a 12-megapixel primary sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 64-megapixel telephoto sensor with 3x hybrid zoom. A 10-megapixel camera is said to be on the front.
Other functions of the S21 and S21 Plus for leaked cameras include support for 8K video recordings at 30 frames per second, 4K at 60 frames per second, and FHD videos at up to 240 frames per second.
Connectivity and other specifications
For connectivity, you should expect the Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus to support NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, and Wi-Fi 6. The phones are also believed to have an IP68 rating for water and dust protection.
The Galaxy S21 is said to have a 4,000 mAh battery, and the S21 Plus is said to have a 4,800 mAh battery. Both phones have a USB-C port for wired charging. They also support wireless and reverse wireless charging.
The report once again confirms that Samsung does not bundle any chargers in the box. It’s also said that optional S-Pen support is limited to the Galaxy S21 Ultra, as we discovered in an FCC file.
Samsung Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus prices
As already mentioned, the Samsung Galaxy S21 is expected to cost at least 849 euros, while the S21 Plus should be available from 1,049 euros.
