The Realme GT 2 Pro has a special, first-wide-angle camera mode that first looks like a gimmick-it shoots with a scene of 150 degrees-but after going out and taking some pictures with it, it seems that it may not be a gimmick after all. I have spent one afternoon with the phone and his camera, and in reality I have liked what I have seen so far.
More than extensive
Many phone manufacturers like most wide-angle phone cameras, or ultra-wide prefer to call them, a 120-degree area, which helps to hold the glory of a landscape or wide area more effectively than the main camera. They have become a staple addition since LG with LG G5 in 2016. Realme is the first to widen the area on the phone, which takes it to 150 degrees.
When you start taking photos with it, the results are shocking. This is not just that you see more, but because Realme has added a very strong HDR effect, there is a hyper-reeler look for photos, but in a pleasant, eye-catching manner. The colors are not over-satisfied, simply bright, and a light, airy, huge tone in the blue sky. An detail suggests that you can expect to see the shadow, and the effect of a slight fish-eyes, but is not so harsh that it ruins the scene. Nothing in the pictures is 100% realistic, but it does not matter. This mode is not about realism, It's about fun,
This is why I think it is more than just a gimmick. The 150-Digry wide-angle photos are highly shared, which means that I want to go out and take them. So many gimmick characteristics do not increase experience or increase creativity, and are being used once in a very specific situation.
I found that I used more use with 150-degree wide-angle shots, and often preferred results. He said, Realme has added a Fishia mode which is a gimmick. The circular photos that take, is presented in a square box with an ugly black border that does not lend himself on social media or looks on the big screen. I suspect that I will ever use it.
What about the rest of the camera? Oppo (which is part of the family similar to Realme, OnePlus, and Vivo) removed the microscope camera from Find X5 Pro, but when you dig the camera app menu on Realme GT 2 Pro, you will know where it has gone. Yes, the super close-up camera mode is migrated to the GT2 Pro, and it offers a 40X or 200X super zoom, which opens the invisible world for naked eyes. Like the feature on Find X3 Pro, it is fun and different, but you probably won't use all this frequently.
The ultra-wide camera is one of Samsung's 50-megapixel Isosel JN1 sensor, and it has been included by a 50MP Sony IMX766 camera and a macro lens for magro magro. Unfortunately the GT2 Pro does not have an optical zoom to go with a wide-angle feature, which is unfortunate that almost all flagship phones today have at least 2x or 3x optical zoom.
good design
I have not yet used the main camera outside the 150-degree wide-angle mode, so cannot judge its performance, but I am sufficiently holding the phone to recognize its amazing design. Once again Realme has partnered with Japanese industrial designed Naoto Fukasawa and this time is the subject chosen for design. Made from a bio-based polymer, the rear panel is engraved laser with a great zigzag pattern, and it immediately reminds you of a really high quality letter writing letter.
It looks cute, with a really subtle texture and a warmth you do not get from glass or metal. Matt Finnish means that it should be free from fingerprints and marks, while the color in our photos – paper is green -mint fresh, and is a great option for the arrival of springtime. Together, the texture and color Realm increases the design of GT2 Pro to some special than normal.
The phone on 195 grams is lighter than modern standards, but the flat screen makes it feel less than a premium level smartphone, which Realme says it is. Along with Oppo, the X5 Pro Find, for example, does not have the same degree of class, whether it is from the curved screen or the more accurate and expensive speed of the button. However, there is a good reason, because Realme GT 2 Pro Find X5 Pro is about half the price.
Specifications, value and availability
Its major credentials actually come from the processor. This Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 General 1 chip is inside with RAM and 256GB storage space, while the flat 6.7-inch screen has a dynamic refresh rate up to 120Hz, a 3216 x 1440 pixel resolution, a effective 1400 1400s, and a 525 pixel-peaks.
Android 12 is installed with Realme UI 3.0, and it is similar to the color of Oppo in terms of layout and use. Realme promises three -year major Android version updates and four -year security updates on all GT 2 series phones, which means that the phone should stay for a sensible time.
However, the GT2 Pro is not particularly difficult and does not have an IP water resistance rating. There is a 5,000mAh battery inside and the superdart charge fast charging system of Realme will take it to 100% capacity in just 30 minutes.
Realme GT 2 Pro will be released in UK on 8 March and will cost 599 British pounds, which is around $ 800. It is unlikely that the phone will be officially released in the US, but it can be imported if you are eager. To keep the price in perspective, it keeps the phone directly in competition with Google Pixel 6 and is much cheaper than the Apple iPhone 13 and Samsung Galaxy S22.
If you feel that you have already seen Realme GT 2 Pro, you probably have, as declared in China in early January 2022, and is now being given a global release.
Price, and a sign in the future of OnePlus
No question, Realme GT 2 Pro is a strong value. Nothing else offers the latest Qualcomm processor at this price, and by now the camera looks like it will be fun to use, as well as I really like the design. However, keeping this price low means losing some true major features such as optical zoom, a curved screen and water resistance. This is a normal realm tradeoff and if it is one you are ready to make, then the GT2 Pro is definitely affected and considering so far.
150-Digry is interested in wide-angle cameras, but you are not able to buy Realme GT 2 Pro? Your savior may come in the size of the OnePlus 10 Pro, as it also has a 150-degree wide-angle camera, and because both companies are very closely related (they are both part of the BBK Electronics Empire) assuming it to assume that it will work in the same way. We are still waiting for the International release date of OnePlus 10 Pro.
We will continue using Realme GT 2 Pro and a complete review will come in the near future.
