  • Polar has introduced two new sports watches: the Polar Ignite 2 and the Polar Vantage M2.
  • Both watches offer significant aesthetic improvements over their predecessors.
  • The fitness watches will soon be available for $ 229.95 and $ 299.95, respectively.

Polar is updating two of its most popular fitness watches. Despite their names, Polar Ignite 2 and Polar Vantage M2 are arguably nominal improvements over their predecessors. Even so, there are still a lot of important upgrades to talk about. Let’s start.

Polar Ignite 2

Polar’s fitness watch for everyone – the Polar Ignite – is aesthetically upgraded with the Ignite 2. The new watch has the same lightweight and durable design as the original, but is now available in four new color options: Champagne, Black, Pink Rose and Storm Blue. For the more daring users, there are also two new accessory bands with Swarovski crystals.

The battery of the Polar Ignite 2 lasts up to five days with “normal” use, just like the original. Continuous training usage has increased from 17 hours to 20 hours. Polar brings what is known as HR sensor mode to the Ignite 2, which allows you to send the heart rate data from your Ignite 2 to other devices such as fitness equipment and bike computers.

There is still no built-in music storage, although the Ignite 2 offers some advantages of the smartwatch: The watch can now control the music of your smartphone and show you the weather in a special widget.

The Polar Ignite 2 will go on sale this April for $ 229.95. The original Ignite is still available on Polar.com in case you want to save some cash.

Again, the main improvements to the Polar Vantage M2 are aesthetic. The new multisport midrange watch from Polar is now available in four new colors: copper, black, champagne and gray.

The battery life is increased enormously compared to the original Vantage M. The M2 now offers a battery life of up to seven days under normal circumstances. In Polar’s energy saving mode, the watch can be used for up to 100 hours of continuous training.

Polar added a weekly workout summary to the Vantage M2 so users can see their workouts over time and make healthy decisions based on previous activities. The HR sensor mode also comes to the M2.

The Vantage M2 can also control your smartphone’s music and show you the weather.

You can pre-order the Polar Vantage M2 now from Polar.com for $ 299.95. Exact details on availability have yet to be announced.

Polar doesn’t hang up its other high-end watches to dry. Later in 2021, the Polar Grit X will receive a software update that supports the weekly training overview, HR sensor mode and music control of the M2. The Vantage V2 will also be updated to support the new HR sensor mode.
