Learn more about the hybrid powertrain

The automaker will, however, provide two engine configurations for the next hybrid SUVs, with a 6-speed automatic transmission only.

Users will have to choose between a 1.3 liter turbocharged petrol engine producing 130 BHP or 180 BHP in addition to an electric motor generating 60 BHP. Therefore, total production will be 190 BHP and 240 BHP, respectively.

The two SUVs will be all-wheel drive in which ICE will power the front wheels, while the electric motor will transmit power to the rear axle.

The electric motor will draw its power from an 11.4 kWh battery offering an electric range of 50 km.

According to the report of InsideEVs, Jeep Renegade 4XE with the 240 BHP engine can sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in just 7.5 seconds. In addition, it can reach a top speed of up to 200 km / h and 130 km / h in EV mode only.

With the new hybrid powertrain, Jeep Compass and Renegade will offer better performance and better comfort on the road. In addition, there will be less fuel consumption and less CO2 emissions.

There is no official confirmation regarding the price of the Jeep 4XE SUV. However, in the UK, the price of the Jeep Renegade 4XE starts at £ 32,600. That said, we can safely assume that it will be around 36,000 euros in other European regions. We will update the prices as soon as the automaker announces the official price range.
