OnePlus accidentally confirmed Nord 2 name on its website

OnePlus announced a pretty interesting deal for Europe yesterday (May 25) as it offered the Stadia Premiere Edition with every new OnePlus device sold. The OnePlus website has all the details, but it looks like the company accidentally confirmed something else as well.

In the FAQ section of the OnePlus website, the Nord 2 was briefly listed as a qualified phone for this offer (h / t: Android police), in addition to the OnePlus 9 series, OnePlus 8 Pro, OnePlus 8T and the Original Nord. OnePlus has since removed the North 2 mention, however Android police took a screenshot of it, see below.

In any case, the reference suggests that the Nord 2 is not too far away. We’ve already seen some rumors about the upcoming device, and it is believed that this could be the first OnePlus device to feature a MediaTek processor. In particular, it is claimed that the Mid-Ranger will be equipped with the Dimensity 1200 processor. So expect a significant increase in CPU and GPU performance on paper over Nord’s original Snapdragon 765G chipset.

There’s no word on other rumored specs for the Nord 2, but we’d definitely love to see better cameras instead of more, three years of Android version updates, and a US release. You can view our OnePlus Nord 2 wish list under the link.
