OnePlus 8T confirmed to launch globally on October 14

  • OnePlus has announced a launch date for the OnePlus 8T on October 14th.

OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 8T will roll out globally next month. The new OnePlus flagship will be unveiled on October 14 at 10 a.m. ET (7:30 p.m. IST, 3 p.m. BST) as part of an online event. Here you can live stream the OnePlus 8T launch event.

OnePlus has not confirmed any details about the specifications and functions of the OnePlus 8T. In a forum post, however, the company stated that it is an “unbeatable combination of powerful hardware and lightweight software”. The OnePlus 8T launch events page also says “Smooth Meet Fast Dialed to 11” which suggests the phone is starting with Android 11 on board.

OnePlus will also be hosting pop-up events for the OnePlus 8T worldwide, but has not yet released any details on them.

In addition to announcing the launch event for the phone, OnePlus has boosted the global recruitment of OnePlus 8T reviewers as part of its “The Lab” program. OnePlus invites 10 candidates to review the OnePlus 8T ahead of its official launch on October 14th. You can apply to be one of the lucky testers here.

What can you expect from the OnePlus 8T?

The OnePlus 8T has already occurred in a render leak, showing a smartphone with a punch display and a chunky primary camera module. A quick look at the phone also shows up in the OnePlus-approved launch video teaser (embedded above), but it doesn’t confirm the leaked design.

In terms of technical data, the OnePlus 8T is said to have a 6.55-inch 120 Hz display, the Snapdragon 865 chipset, a quadruple 48MP + 16MP + 5MP + 2MP camera setup, a 32MP selfie shooter and 65W charging. You can read more about the leaked specs and features of the OnePlus 8T.
