The BMW 5 Series After the first picture that the German automaker showed, the sedan will get a more elegant look.

Our first look at the optimized luxury sedan came from the BMW General Assembly on Thursday, and the automaker confirmed that we’ll see the whole thing in less than two weeks. Aside from the debut, the company also announced that we also have electrified versions with 48-volt mild hybrid technology.

Don’t expect massive design changes as the internet seemed to spoil the latest changes at the end of last month, but the 2021 model year will bring some slimmer headlights and a revised grille. The teaser photos show both elements and the headlights look pretty good. The rear takes a few elements out of the latest 3 series also, especially in the taillights. Once again, an even more powerful plug-in hybrid model could be part of the portfolio.

After all, the more efficient models will give way to fun things. We’ll see an updated one M5 and hotter M5 competition will come later, but the German brand will surely demonstrate the standard models and their added efficiency first.

While the 5 Series was the highlight of the presentation, BMW also said things would change at the automaker. The company used the meeting to underline how the Corona virus A pandemic will shape the automaker in the future. In particular, all future products are checked, and postponements and cancellations are not off the table. The pandemic is already rumored put a BMW i8 successor back.
