  • Google just announced the launch date for India for the Pixel 4a.
  • The phone will land in India on October 17th.
  • It is available for sale through Flipkart.

Google has finally announced the launch date for the Pixel 4a in India. The mid-range Google phone, which was launched in the US back in August, will hit the Indian coast on October 17th. Google confirmed the launch of Pixel 4a India while responding to a request on Twitter.

It’s possible that Google’s Twitter account was ahead because we originally expected the company to announce the availability of the Pixel 4a in India during the Pixel hardware event that closed a few hours ago. If that didn’t happen, we thought Google would make an official announcement for the launch of Pixel 4a India at a later date. Looks like the cat is finally out of the pocket.

Where and for how much to buy Google Pixel 4a in India

The Google Pixel 4a will be available in India through Flipkart. The e-commerce platform has already set up a dedicated page for the phone on its website. However, the start date for October 17th is not yet mentioned.

The Pixel 4a is a mid-tier smartphone with the Snapdragon 730 chipset. Unlike its recently introduced successors – Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 – the phone doesn’t support 5G connectivity. Not that India has 5G networks. The good thing is that it comes with the same main camera as the higher quality Google phones. So expect to take some high quality photos with the device.

It’s also cheaper than the new Google phones at $ 349. This means somewhere around Rs. 25,000 in India. However, Google phones in India are usually labeled compared to their international counterparts, so the phone may cost a little more than direct price conversion.

The Pixel 4a will be introduced in India in a single 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model. Buyers also get three-month free trials of YouTube Premium and Google One with the phone.

Are you thinking of waiting for the Pixel 4a 5G or the Pixel 5 instead? Do not do it. Google has already announced that it will not launch the phones in India.
