Here’s everything we know about the Galaxy S21 phones so far.

3 Galaxy S21 phones with the same processor

It should come as no surprise that Samsung is expected to launch three different models of the S21: the 6.2-inch S21, the 6.7-inch S21 Plus, and the 6.8-inch S21 Ultra. But an extensive leak from Android Police’s Max Weinbach apparently documents almost the entire data sheet, which reveals more about these three phones than just the model names and sizes. The latest Evan Blass leak also includes a detailed datasheet showing three phones with the same model names and display sizes.

The screens will likely all support 120Hz like the earlier S20 series, with the S21 Ultra having the WQHD Plus display with the highest resolution. The other key takeaway though is that these phones are likely to use the latest Snapdragon processor in the US. Formerly called the Snapdragon 875, it was actually called the Snapdragon 888, which was announced at a Qualcomm virtual event in December. Some of the main features of the new chip are faster 5G performance and extended battery life.

The renderers show an elegant new camera and frame design

Earlier renders released by Steve Hemmerstoffer (@OnLeaks) suggest that the Galaxy S21 doesn’t look radically different from the earlier S20 phones, but instead has a redesigned camera module. It seems that there will be an on-screen fingerprint reader and a selfie camera with a hole punch on all three phones, with the S21 and S21 Plus’s screens sitting flat and the S21 Ultra’s screen curved at the edges. More Teasers for the Galaxy S21 have been leaked online In early December, a phantom purple color shows up with a pinhole camera and a small bezel on the front of the device, as well as a back with three cameras.

The three-camera array on the S21 and S21 Plus has been moved to the upper-left corner, and it’s expected that there will be a regular wide-angle, ultra-wide-angle, and telephoto camera. This render matches the leaked data sheet from Android Police and Evan Blass, stating that it is a 12-megapixel ultrawide and wide camera and a 64-megapixel telephoto camera. The LED flash has been moved to the right of the camera body.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra is a little different, with a much larger camera module with four rear cameras: one 12-megapixel wide and one ultra-wide, and two 10-megapixel telephoto cameras with 3x and 10x optical zoom. It also looks like the 100x room zoom of the S20 Ultra also works with the S21 Ultra. Space Zoom is Samsung’s name for the hybrid digital and optical zoom, with which 100x is achieved.

The main camera of the S21 Ultra seems to have a 108-megapixel sensor, which is called the “Gen 2 sensor” on the data sheet. We assume it will use a similar one Pixel binning Method for outputting 12-megapixel images, like the S20 Ultra and Note 20 Ultra with their 108-megapixel sensors. The S21 Ultra is also said to retain the Note 20 Ultra’s laser autofocus system, as opposed to the S20 Ultra’s phase-detection autofocus system.

Evan Blass on Twitter shared the following infographic which details the resolutions and specs of the S21 series cameras that appear to confirm the earlier leaks.

While the @OnLeaks renderings show the S21 series in both gray and black versions, other colors are expected. The S21 appears to be available in the colors Phantom White, Phantom Gray, Phantom Violet and Phantom Pink. the S21 Plus in Phantom Silver, Phantom Black and Phantom Violet; and the S21 Ultra in Phantom Black and Phantom Silver. The render in the video below from Italian website Pigtou shows what the silver finish can look like.

Twitter user Ice Universe posted a picture It will show concept renders of the other S21 colors, and then show an image posted on Instagram that claims to be the front of the S21 Ultra.

YouTube user Sakitech posted the following video allegedly showing a photo of the S21 Ultra and S21 Plus. It gives details of the camera’s specifications and an overview of what a preproduction example might look like. The Dutch website LetsGoDigital has also published detailed 3D renderings of the Galaxy S21 series showing how the SIM tray is located on the base of the phone.

Will the Galaxy S21 have accessories in the box?

Samsung will almost certainly follow suit Apple’s leadership According to a previous report now confirmed by the pale leaks, both the charger and wired headphones have been removed from the Galaxy S21’s box. This wouldn’t be the first time Samsung has taken the headphones out of the box as the Galaxy Z Fold 2 ships without the headphones for $ 1,999 in the US (although you could request a pair of AKG headphones from Samsung after purchase) .

Goodbye Galaxy Note, hello pen for the S21?

A report from Reuters said that Samsung may end the Galaxy Note line and the S21 Ultra will take its place as the Samsung phone with a stylus. While the renderings don’t show a visible location for a pen, the phone can support the S Pen with a software update. This would mean that the pen would have to be kept separate from the phone when not in use. Pictures from WinFuture Show a case for the S21 Ultra that has a dedicated slot for the S Pen when not in use. This seems to confirm the rumors that there is no room for storing the S Pen in the phone itself like you can on the Galaxy Note line. The The latest spec leak also shows S Pen support Only on the S21 Ultra, although the pen is sold separately.

In Samsung’s blog post, TM Roh also confirms that there will be synergy between the Note and other Samsung phones. “We’ve also considered favorite aspects of the Galaxy Note experience and we’re excited to add some of the most popular features to other devices in our lineup.”

Older wearables may not be compatible with the S21

Samsung has released many different fitness trackers and smartwatches over the past few years. However, a notification in the Samsung Members app discovered by GalaxyClub indicates that the Galaxy S21 does not support older wearables like the Galaxy Gear. The full list of affected devices includes Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo, Gear S, and Gear Fit. This news isn’t particularly surprising as some of these trackers were released over five years ago.

A UI 3.1 may debut on the S21

Another video from Droid Life shows the new Samsung One UI 3.1, which is said to be released along with the S21. As an update for the current One UI 3.0, which is currently running on many new Samsung phones with Android 11, the new update offers functions such as background videos for calls, the Google Discovery feed on the start screen and improvements to the camera interface.

The S21 may be cheaper than the S20

There is also the possibility that Samsung will lower the base price of the Galaxy S21, possibly in response to the general decline in cell phone sales due to the coronavirus pandemic. South Korean leaker Landsk claims the S21 will start at $ 899, the S21 Plus at $ 1,099, and the S21 Ultra at $ 1,250. That would mean a $ 100 drop in price from the starting price of the regular S20 in March 2020.
