Chances are that if you have even a temporary interest in motorcycles or adventures, you have probably seen the epic travel documentaries Long Way Round and Long Way Down by Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman.

We have known for some time that the Hollywood star and his buddy were working on a third series, Long Way Up, in which they would defy the wilderness of South America on their way to Los Angeles. Apple announced on Monday that the series is coming Apple TV Plus in September, but that’s not all.

One of the previous information We had about the series that instead of using their typical big ones BMW GS Adventure touring bikes, McGregor and Boorman only made this trip with electrons – especially with Harley-Davidson LiveWire, specially modified for the rough things.

Harley’s LiveWire is a damn good bike, but it’s definitely an odd choice for this kind of ride.

We also saw pictures of prototypes Rivian truck be unloaded at a port near the motorcycles. We suspected – along with the rest of the Internet – that these would be used as support vehicles during the adventure.

Rivian confirmed on Tuesday via Instagram that two R1Ts took part in the 13,000-mile adventure. Hopefully the series will give an insight into the capabilities of one of the most anticipated electric vehicles in recent years.

Given the good performance of the previous two documentary series, the fact that most of it is the same crew working on it, and the different and exciting vehicles that are used, we have high hopes for Long Way Up.

Keep an eye out for roadshow to review the first three episodes that will appear before the series debut on September 18.
