May is a national fitness month, which has thought of us about personal fitness. How do you know what kind of shape you are in and if you are making any progress when the number barely moves an ounce? Certainly, easily exiting the breath is a very good sign that you are not in the best shape – but is it really a lot of insight in your overall fitness level, except for the fact that you need to get in size? Answer: Not so much. If you love data and track every small portion of your health journey, it is time to invest in smart body scale like Etekcity ESF00+ Smart Fitness Scale.

Data rich design

The ESF00+ scale is what we will call smooth. The white scale with its round edges has an 8 mm tempered glass at the top for a polish look. It will fit easily in any high-end modern bathroom. Measuring 11.8-inch to 14.8 inches to 1-inch, it is slightly compared to a standard scale. It is also very light, so it is easy to move around the house. Depending on the scale, slightly on the right, there is a microUSB port that is used to charge the scale. The USB conversion is included in a MicroUSB box for cable. There is also a tape remedy, so you can track the inch because they fall away.

The real showstopper is a black middle panel on the scale. Once you step on the scale, you can see all types of data, including fat, muscles, water and bone percentage. There is also data on your weight (tracked up to 0.1 pounds), basal metabolic rate ,BMR), and body mass index (BMI data). The bottom of the black panel has BMI tooltips – these are essentially times that lighten the red and green, if you are in the right areas. If you see some red straps, it means some composition of your body is in “extra”. The app will show a wide breakdown in more, high, lower or standard in which areas.

The etekcity scale uses the VESYNC app to record and track data. Vesync is a hub where you can add smart home devices from etekcity, cosori and levoit. You can also set the room and many users.

It will also sink data with Apple Health, Fitbit, Google Fit, Samsung Health and MyFitnesspal. During the setup, the app asks if you want to share data with any of those other apps. In our tests, it offered to join Apple Health, Fitbit and MyFitnesspal. It probably did not offer to connect with other options because we used an iPhone.

Setup and installation

Etekcity may not be easy to set a smart fitness scale: Exclude it from the box, peel the instructions from the scale's face, and charge. It charges completely in about three hours. I had gone through that process about a month ago, and still did not have to charge it again with daily use.

Connecting it to the app is an air. It immediately sinked, then requested that we assign it a room and customize the scale icon (we did not, we prefer generic scale pictures.) The app asks some common questions about age, height and penis, and then you are ready to go. The unit activates the moment that you step on. You can see the smart of the scale at work because it takes a moment to register the above mentioned weight and other data.

The scale uses bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) technology to estimate your body structure. Originally, when you step on the scale, it sends small electronic currents through the body to analyze major biometric measurements. Don't worry, you don't feel one thing. What it does provides an app with some general information about you, including:

• Muscle
• Protein
• BMR
• Metabolism age

You can track this data with the app on the phone and see your progress in those categories. You can also send data to a friend or medical professional through email. If your phone is not passed and when you step on the scale, the app is not open, it will not track the data. This is the only real bummer, but you can still look down on the scale and see that data if you have a decent vision – although it is difficult to miss those red bars based on the performance.

Overall, we provide etekcity scale and large -scale data, although you definitely require real medical devices so that all data can be collected. Nevertheless, some type of base line is useful – especially if you are trying to come in shape and not seeing any real progress in the beginning. In that vein, we loved the growth of 0.1-pound and the structure of our weight. After working a few weeks, we can see that the number of muscles has increased.

Is there a better option?

If you do not want to spend a lot of money, Wyze scale S provides the right amount of data and costs very little. It is a solid option as an early model, but if you are committed to a weight loss regime and want to see more data, then invest in this etekcity unit such as smart scale.

How long will it last?

The scales can last for a long time – at least a few years. Etekcity ESF00+ comes with a two -year warranty. If you start getting wrong readings or are looking for issues with performance, or it does not have your charge for a long time, then they are all signs. It's time to look for a new scale.

Should you buy it?

The price of smart scales is at least $ 20 to $ 150. At about $ 60, this etekcity scale is correct in the middle. It provides too much data, an easy way to track and share it, and it also looks good.
