Get me out to the ball game. Bring me to the crowd with the robot cheerleaders? A video shared on Tuesday showed Boston Dynamics’ famous robot dog Spot, paired with its semi-humanoid sibling Pepper, who was cheering on a Japanese baseball game. And not just a spot and a pepper – there was a small army of robot dogs and humanoids who wore hats, waving flags and waving their butts in the case of the spot robots.

Boston Dynamics is owned by the Japanese Softbank, and the bots cheered the corporate team, the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, in a game against the Rakuten Eagles, SoftBank said. There are no human viewers because of it the coronavirus pandemicThe robots enliven the otherwise empty stands.

The robots will be playing games throughout July. And although they may not win dance competitions, they don’t become astute, they work to improve.

“I practice and practice every day,” quotes SoftBank Pepper.

If you want your own spot, They are only $ 74,500 (around £ 59,341 AU $ 107,116), but are only available for businesses, not for individual houses.
