Apple may change its playbook to include Apple Arcade, the company’s monthly gaming subscription service for $ 4.99. According to a Tuesday report from Bloomberg, the technology company is terminating contracts for some games that are still under development as it searches for titles that better bind subscribers.

An Apple Arcade creative producer told some developers that their upcoming games lacked the level of “engagement” Apple had sought, according to unnamed sources, in Bloomberg’s report. According to the sources, Apple is working to keep players after the free trial and wants games that arouse users’ interest.

CNET has contacted Apple Arcade representatives and we will update as soon as we hear.

It’s been almost a year since Apple tossed its hat into the game subscription arena with the release of Apple Arcade. To date, the service has ended 120 new and exclusive games for playing on iPhone, iPad, Mac, iPod Touch and Apple TV. Some of the service’s breakout games include The Enchanted World, Where Cards Fall, and Shinsekai: Into the Depths.
