Apple approved an update to the Hey subscription-based email app over the weekend after it was rejected last week, developer Basecamp said on Monday. It came when Apple was preparing for it Worldwide developer conference Monday event.

Basecamp has tweeted that updates, as noted by TechCrunch, have been rejected multiple times, apparently because it didn’t offer in-app purchases for the full $ 99 service per year. The app also lacked functionality when downloading – you need to visit the company’s website to log in.

A recent update Basecamp submitted on Monday added a “new free option” to the iOS app to meet Apple’s requirements.

David Heinemeier Hansson, co-founder of Basecamp, tweeted about Monday’s update.

“SO NOW WE ARE WAITING. CAN THIS STAND-OFF END IN A TRUTH?” he wrote.

Apple’s move also followed the European Competition Commission Opening of double examinations in Apple Pay and the App Store, and calls from Microsoft President Brad Smith for greater control under antitrust law on App Store guidelines.

Apple didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
